Listening Quiz – TV Series Edition

We all know one of the best ways to learn English is to watch TV series  — if you want to know how to use TV series to learn English, you can read this article I wrote, which contains lots of precious tips.

However, watching TV series in the original language is easier said than done, especially when the language we’re talking about is English, am I right?

While I strongly believe in the importance of using subtitles, every now and then it’s fun to test our listening skills and see where we are in our journey.

For this reason I have selected 5 clips for you to test your listening skills.

Now, don’t get discouraged if you don’t get everything. Some of these clips are really tough to understand.

Ready? When you are finished, leave a comment and let me know how it went!

Good luck! =)

If you didn’t catch everything, don’t beat yourself up. With a bit of work and the right tools, you will be able to enjoy all of your favorite TV shows and movies, with or without subtitles!

If your goal is to finally be able to understand 100% of the dialogues when watching your favorite TV series, never miss a joke and be able to relax and actually enjoy the show/movie you’re watching, as opposed to stress over the fact that you didn’t catch this or that word, take a look at our English Boosters, which make it incredibly easy for you to:

  • learn new words and expressions — so you’ll never miss a  joke again
  • train your listening skills — did you know that the best way to improve your listening skills is to listen and read at the same time?!
  • access engaging content — with EnBooo TV you can learn English with your favorite actors!

Hello Lara! This was absolute fun. I got three right and two wrong – missed the word cluttering(clip 5) and got wrong at ‘is there a’ (clip 2).
I got here from the podcasts and you’re doing an amazing work! 🤩

Hi Lara and thanks for this quiz!
I was absolutely right in 1 and 3.
In the 2nd clip the first part of the sentence is too hard to understand.
In the 4 clip I made mistake in this part ‘haven’t quit been’.
And the last was almost right, except the word ‘cluttering’.

Hi Lara! Thanks for the quiz.
OMG, all answers were wrong! =) It wasn’t easy, especially to hear “to bring” into the first clip. The second was not easy too, I heard only something about a hospital. However, I really like the format of the quiz, thanks again!
